Volunteering

We are fortunate in having a thriving club with close to 400 members across both junior and senior sections and a wide variety of activities throughout year.  We are equally fortunate in the number of volunteers we have who help keep the club running, and contributing in many different ways.  We rely almost entirely on volunteers and this page aims to provide information on the different roles we have within the club and how you can volunteer too.

Committee

The committee comprises the following executive roles - Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary, Mens Club Captain, Ladies Club Captain, Social Secretary, Junior Coordinator and Club Welfare Officer.  All these roles are elected at the annual general meeting, usually held in Jun each year.  Whilst all these roles are currently filled, we would like to know if anyone is interested in taking on any of these roles in the future so that we can plan over the medium term.  Please contact the Chairman or Vice Chairman if you are interested.

Non Executives

Additional non executive roles include fixture secretaries for the ladies and mens teams, press officer, umpire coodinator, equipment manager (goalkeeping equipment) and again please contact the Chairman or Vice Chairman if you are interested.

Captains/ Manager

There are 7 mens teams and 6 ladies teams, and whilst some captains organise the team during the week and take control of the team on the pitch on a Saturday others prefer to split the role between them and their vice captain.  We are looking at whether technolgy in the form of this website can make the process easier and continue to look at whether other tasks such as collecting match fees can be made easier.  Captaincy can be highly rewarding especially when your team gains promotion or avoids what seemed to be inevitable relegation and whilst we have benefited from many experienced players in this role, enthusiasm and leadership are just as important.  We would encourage anyone interested to contact the club captains.  If you think you can assist in managing a team, even as a non-player (perhaps your son or daughter play in a team), please also let the club captains - this is a great way to get involved and share in the highs and lows of the team.

Umpires

Umpiring also provides another way to get involved in games as well as helping the club fullfill fixtures.  Again the club will normally pay for costs of getting qualified (you will need to have a level 1 award to umpire league games).  Please contact fixture or umpire secretary for more details.

CRB

Regular volunteers will need to undertake a CRB check and this can be arranged through the club welfare officer.
