Junior Training
Junior training starts with a "Season Kick Off" on Sunday 4th September 2011 - please come along to meet with your coaches in the clubhouse at Newport and then join in a few friendly games.
Times for the Season Kick Off are as follows and are at Newport Astro:
U8/U10's - 9:00 to 10:00 am
U12's - 10:00 to 11:30 am
U14's - 11:30 am to 1:00 pm
Junior Training then starts on Sunday 11th September 2011
Training Details
For the 2011/12 season, the age groups remain as follows - U8, U10, U12, U14 and U16 however they now revert back to academic school years; i.e. based on children's ages as at 1st Sep 2011. This follows England Hockey's decision earlier this year to change back to academic school years for all club competitions.This is not in line with JDC and JAC (previously County) training which is still based on children's ages as at 1st January.
Winter Training - Sundays
Training on Sunday mornings is split between the different age groups as follows
U8 mixed (Yrs 2 & 3) - 9:00 to 10:00 am at Newport Astro
U10 mixed (Yrs 4 & 5) - 9:00 to 10:00 am at Newport Astro
U12 boys and girls (Yrs 6 & 7) - 10:00 to 11:10 am at Newport Astro
U14 girls (Yrs 8 & 9) - 11:10 am to 12:20 pm at Newport Astro
U14 boys (Yrs 8 & 9) - 12:20 to 1:30 pm at Newport Astro

Sun mornings 4/09/11 to 18/12/11
Sun mornings 08/01/12 to 25/03/12
Winter Training - Tuesdays
Training on Tuesday evenings as follows
U16 girls - 6:30 to 7:30 pm at Newport Astro
U16 boys - 7:30 to 8:30 pm at Newport Astro

Tue evenings 06/09/11 to 20/12/11
Tue evenings 03/01/12 to 28/03/12
Cancellations
If sessions are cancelled (e.g.due to pitch being frozen), there will be a "News" item added to this website.
